I have never heard someone say, “I regret having a newborn portrait session” or “I wish I had not gotten that awesome image of my newborn”. . .  But I do hear often said, “I wish I had gotten newborn pictures done.”

Don’t be the mom or dad that looks back years later wishing you had gotten newborn pictures taken of your children.  Newborn photography was not popular when I had my children and I am certainly one of those that say, “I wish”.

Your baby will only be that tiny once and believe me, they grow up so fast!  That is one of the most often comments made to children.  “You sure have grown” or “your son or daughter are getting so big”.  Is this not something we hear from our family, friends and comments on pictures we post on Facebook?

Newborn images will be one of the most treasured portraits you take.  They are one of the milestones in a person’s life, along with graduations and weddings.  The emotions of having a part of yourself to hold and love should be captured for you to treasure and remember forever.  Portraits are the best way to be able to look back and remember exactly how you felt at that moment.

How often do we say, “I can’t believe how small you were”?  What is the best way to remember than to have a portrait of you holding your beautiful baby in your hands?   When your child is older you can show them this image and say, “Can you believe you were that small” or “Look how tiny you were in our hands”.  Images like these are so precious.  You can never go back and recreate these amazing images.
