"What you Want to Know About Newborn Portrait Sessions"

This is my third blog in the series entitled:

"Safety is my #1 priority in a newborn portrait session”

As a parent of a newborn, I am sure you have the safety of their little bundle in mind when scheduling a newborn portrait session.  I want to assure you as a new parent that the safety of your baby is my #1 priority as well.

I have an in-home portrait studio where I conduct my newborn sessions.  While my studio is not only for newborns, I set up my studio specifically to make it comfortable for parents and safe for your baby.  I have a changing table with extra supplies of diapers, wipes and blankets.

Between every session I make sure everything is clean, sterilized and fresh for the next session.  During your session I have cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, etc. to make the time together fun but germ free.

I like to keep my studio at a warm temperature so your baby will be comfortable during changing outfits and during poses.  Parents are welcome to sit in my relaxation area and enjoy a cold drink and have a snack.

Another issue that has developed is some images that are seen of babies in a basket or pose that is suspended off the floor.  I want to assure you that none of my poses ever have a baby suspended off the floor or in a pose that could even remotely cause any harm.  If these images are done correctly, they are composites, which mean they have been photoshopped to look like they are suspended in air.  Any photographer that wants to put your newborn in a suspended pose, PLEASE, say no.

As an added assurance, I always have someone within hands distance of the newborns during our session.  This is simply to be there in case baby flinches during a pose and gets alarmed.  Having a warm hand immediately there will reassure the baby that they are safe, and someone is nearby.

Newborn portraits can only be taken once in your little one’s life.  That is why I encourage all parents to consider a newborn portrait session.  It is my goal and my passion to capture these special images of that tiny infant that will grow up so quickly.  Let me help you create a lasting image that you can cherish forever.

I hope this blog has been helpful, and that you will continue to follow me as I post more blogs over the next week.

I would also welcome any suggestions on what you would like me to blog about in the future.

My next blog will be: “How to prepare for my newborn portrait session.”
